Data & sources

Built entirely from official CMS data

SeniorCareRating.com uses the U.S. CMS Provider Data Catalog (Care Compare) under the “Nursing homes including rehab services” topic. Pages are generated ahead of time; the public site never queries a database when you visit.

What we do not store

  • Scraped or user reviews
  • Testimonials or endorsements
  • Facility-paid placements or ads
  • Invented ratings or rankings
  • Long narrative inspection text
  • Anything not traceable to a CMS source field

Why compact-only

We keep short codes, dates, numbers, and identifiers — not long narrative text. This keeps the dataset small, fast, and strictly traceable to CMS source fields, and avoids republishing unverified prose. Source runs (release date, checksum, row counts) are tracked for every refresh.
